Mike Olson is a seasoned healthcare professional with extensive experience in private practice mergers and acquisitions, private equity, financial services relationship management and healthcare product management. Mike serves as a healthcare industry subject matter expert concentrating within dental and medial offices and his responsibilities include identifying and researching emerging trends, speaking at Medical and Dental Schools, proactively building relationships with national COIs across the footprint, and will significantly contribute to improving PNC’s visibility and competitive positioning within the healthcare industry.
Based in Chicago, Mike most recently held the position of Sr. Director of Acquisitions at a Midwest based emerging DSO. Playing a pivotal role in the growth of this successful group, his expertise in identifying and acquiring privately owned general dentistry practices across the Midwestern states resulted in the impressive expansion of the group from nine offices generating $7.5 million in revenue to over thirty-six offices producing a staggering $60 million in revenue. In late 2018, Mike played a role in a joint venture between this group and one of largest, PE backed DSO in the county.
Prior to joining the DSO space, Mike was a Vice President of Healthcare Business Banking at PNC Bank. During his nine-year tenure with PNC, he managed a multidisciplinary team focused on improving the efficiency and profitability of healthcare providers primarily in the fields of dentistry, medicine, optometry and veterinary services, further strengthening his expertise in the sector.
Mike has also gained valuable experience in the banking industry through notable roles at Citibank and JP Morgan Chase (BankOne). He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Saint Joseph’s College in Indiana, where he was a 4 year Varsity Lettermen in baseball. Mike lives with his wife and 2 teen aged children in the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago.
